Vikings Quarterback Options for 2009

Besides the obvious but less than exciting appointment of T-Jack as the starter and Gus-Gus as the backup, I thought it would be interesting to look at a few possibilities for that position.

#1. Donovan McNabb
It seems like everybody in Philly wants him gone, and since he’s Childress’ boy, that would make some sense.  But, his past few weeks of play will keep him eating cheesesteaks for a few more years.

#2. Matt Hasselbeck
Matt still has a live arm, and is going to be a free agent when the Seahawks cut his huge salary loose.

#3. Derek Anderson
Do we chalk up 2008 as a mirage and hope that 2007 was the trend?

#4. Carson Palmer
He’s not really on the market, but the Bengals might want to unload him and his salary and try to start fresh.

#5. Kurt Warner
Did he sign an extension on Arizona? The Iowa boy might want to sign close to home. If not, Matt Leinart should be available.

#6. Matt Cassell
I think that the Pats need to hold on to Cassell simply because we don’t know if Brady will return in 2009.  The franchise tag may be in play too.

#7. Brian Brohm
The Pack’s third stringer could prove too expensive and may be one of those camp casualties.

Who do you think might be available?

  1. i’m going with your best bet being cassell
brady will be back and cassell is excellent

or brohm he’s just a start away from starting a pro-bowl career

  2. I’m a fan of the Hasselbeck idea….He is the cheapest and safest idea
